GPI Prototype and GPI Anatomicals are divisions of GPI Manufacturing, Inc. Since 1980, GPI Anatomicals has engineered and manufactured educational anatomical models for pharmaceutical & medical device companies and anatomical model distributors from around the world.

GPI has an exciting opportunity open for the right individual to join our Additive Manufacturing Production Team. As an OP Tech you will understudy and serve under a seasoned OP Tech. He will train you and use you in a Production support role. As your abilities and knowledge of the machines grows, so will your duties and responsibilities. In addition to a 40 hour work week, ‘A’ level techs are expected to serve "on-call" for off-hour servicing of the machines. Estimated at 2 to 3 times a week.

Qualified candidates require:

  • Enrolled or finished with an Industrial Tech or machine operator curriculum
  • above average knowledge and skills in electro-mechanical
  • skilled with hand tools
  • good verbal, written and math skills
  • have strong computer skills – proficient word processing and data entry
  • Reliable and independent transportation; available to work ‘on-call’ or off-hour when needed
  • be able to work independently and as part of the Production Team
  • conscientious; fast learner; safe/careful operator
  • ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (ideal candidate to contribute to authoring)

Bonus skills:

  • proficient with a camera and/or documentation
  • skilled in measurement instruments( digital indicators, calipers, scales, multi-meter)
  • CAD experience (specifically CAD file manipulation – ie rotate and section views)
  • Knowledge of tolerancing practices, and associated ‘math’

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Material (Powder Metal) Management (Add, Remove, Change, Sieve)
  • Machine Set-up
  • Machine Tear-down
  • Bandsaw and EDM operation
  • Maintenance (wet vac, filters, general housekeeping)
  • Build Plate management (record keeping)
